In the movie it is known as Camp Crystal Lake, but the actual filming location is Camp NoBeBoSco in Hardwick Township, NJ.
To avenge the killing of his mother! You need to watch the 1980 version to get the true meaning and back-story of the Friday the 13th franchise. His mother did the killing in the original Friday the 13th to teach the camp counsellor's a lesson, because years before, Jason had been teased by other kids as he was horribly disfigured and he had fallen into the lake off of the jetty and the counsellor's who were meant to be watching, were just chilling out and ignoring his cries & he tragically died.So his mom/mum came back to Camp Crystal Lake, some years later to kill a new breed of counsellor's. She gets beheaded at the end of the 1st film by one gutsy girl, who is shown in a boat on the lake the morning after and all of a sudden she is pulled in by Jason. For the subsequent movies, it is said that Jason witnessed the beheading of his mother and they are of him wreaking havoc and killing anyone who dares set foot in his sanctuary that is Camp Crystal Lake to avenge the loss of his mother.I recommend Parts 1 & 2 for the story purpose, but thereafter it is just Jason picking off trespassers in the other 7 movies really. Jason X is pretty good too, for a modern revamp of the Jason character.
Lt. Eric A. Kranz had a part in the movie and it was toward the end of the movie when there were two actors who got out of the police car and went down to the lake and called to the girl in the boat just before Jason pulled her out of the boat into the water. Eric also did most of the driving scenes with the police cars as insurance did not cover civillians to drive them.
Despite repeated warnings to stay away, a group of fun-loving but none-too-bright teenagers set out to reopen the eerie Camp Crystal Lake, which closed 20 years earlier after a series of bizarre and unexplained deaths. Now someone is lurking in the woods, spying on the happy campers, and plotting a gory, grisly revenge on those who would disturb the camp's slumber.
Some mean old kid pushed him in and he could not swim so sadly he sank down to the bottom of the lake and now he just sits there waiting for someone to kill. That is what really happed daaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know there’s a Crystal Lake with a camp in New Hampshire, but as far as I know the real Crystal Lake used for filming Friday the 13th is in New Jersey.
Friday the 13th
yes
The Friday the 13th movies are purely fictional. Jason Voorhees is not a real person. There must be at least a dozen lakes in the United States named Crystal Lake, but the Camp Crystal Lake that was depicted in the movies is also entirely fictional. The Friday the 13th movies were filmed at Camp Nobebosco in New Jersey, which is still a functioning summer camp.
in the woods of camp crystal lake.
Friday The 13th is a horror movie about a group of young people who go to Camp Crystal Lake. There they are attacked by Jason Voorhees and the horror begins. This is the first in a series of Friday The 13th sequels.
There is one in Allen Park, Michigan. The one in Friday the 13th is filmed in California, but the setting is the forests of New Jersey.
