Not sure of your application, but when making presentation
1. Tell the audience what you are going to tell them (introduction)
2. Tell them (main body of presentation)
3. Tell them what you told them (conclusion)

That so depends on the presentation and content. Typically, for engineering presentations, I assume 1-3 minutes per slide with average of 2 minutes per slide, for a 20-30 slide presentation. If you have only 5 or 10 minutes, about 5 to 10 slides.
