I'm going to give the nonscientific answer, a bacteria can only maintain one shape because it don't have enough cells to mold into another shape there for it is not multicellular (or it is I think it depends on if its arche or EU bacteria).
A 4 sided shape has 4 vertices whereas a 3 sided shape has 3 vertices.
3-D Shape
Wich 3 D shape has a corner on it?
A triangle as no other 2d shape can have 3 sides.
The bacteria that can change shape call pleomorphic
Coccus(Round shape), Bacillus(Rod shape), Spiral bacteria(Motile bacteria having a helical or spiral shape) By Arcangel Meynard
cocci bacteria are round in shape
Bacteria can be classified based on their shape (such as cocci, bacilli, spirilla) and on their staining properties (Gram-positive or Gram-negative). These classifications help in identifying and distinguishing different types of bacteria.
Streptococcus, the bacteria that causes strep throat, is spherical (cocci) in shape.
The shape of a virus that attacks bacteria is typically cylindrical or polyhedral. These viruses that infect bacteria are known as bacteriophages and come in various shapes and sizes.
Round bacteria are cocci.
Bacilli are rod-shaped bacteria.
Yes, bacteria have a cell wall. It helps to maintain their shape and provides protection from the external environment. The cell wall of bacteria is made of peptidoglycan.
MreB is the most common one, and gives bacteria their tubular form. Then there is Crescentin, which is involved in formation of the crescent shape of some bacteria.
