β 9y agoWhen you square a number, the final digit is the final digit of the 'one's' number squared. Since the only single digit numbers squared which ends in 6 are 4 and 6, the answer is either 4 or 6 (a calculator tells me it is 6) 0 squared is 0. All numbers ending in 0 when squared will end in 0. 1 squared is 1. All numbers ending in 1 when squared will also end in 1. 2 squared is 4. All numbers ending in 2 when squared will end in 4. 3 squared is 9. All numbers ending in 3 when squared will end in 9. 4 squared is 16. All numbers ending in 4 when squared will end in 6. 5 squared is 25. All numbers ending in 5 when squared will end in 5. 6 squared is 36. All numbers ending in 6 when squared will end in 6. 7 squared is 49. All numbers ending in 7 when squared will end in 9. 8 squared is 64. All numbers ending in 8 when squared will end in 4. 9 squared is 81. All numbers ending in 9 when squared will end in 1. So square numbers can only end with 0, 1, 4, 5, 6 or 9.
(x-3)(x-5) = 0
x2-35x+300 = 0 (x-15)(x-20) = 0 x = 15 or x = 20

(x-3)(x-5) = 0
x2 + 2x - 15 = 0(x + 5) (x - 3) = 0x = -5x = +3
x2-35x+300 = 0 (x-15)(x-20) = 0 x = 15 or x = 20

0 -15
15 prime numbers are between 0 and 50
x2+x-15 = 0 Using the quadratic equation formula: x = 3.405124838 or x = -4.405124838

By definition, i^2=-1 Which also means: i=sqrt(-1) This may seem odd that such a number can be, since you may notice that all normal numbers, when squared, result in a positive number (e.g. (-3)^2=9, 0^2=0, 2^2=4). These "normal" numbers are called real numbers. Numbers that result in a negative number when squared are called "imaginary numbers". They don't lie on the real number line. i is the imaginary unit, just like 1 is the real unit. Don't let the names confuse you, imaginary numbers can be just as real and useful as real numbers, that's just a name that stuck with them.
All numbers greater than 0 are called positive numbers.
0 squared is 0. Zero times zero equals zero.
