There are lots of different types of polygons Polygons are classified into various types based on the number of sides and measures of the angles.: Regular Polygons Irregular Polygons Concave Polygons Convex Polygons Trigons Quadrilateral Polygons Pentagon Polygons Hexagon Polygons Equilateral Polygons Equiangular Polygons
The only shapes which can be used for a regular tessellation are:An equilateral triangle,A squareA regular hexagon. There are also non-regular polygons as well as shapes which are not polygons which can tessellate

A polygon is usually defined as a plane figure bounded by straight line segments. Any figure which does not correspond to this definition would be a non-polygon. For example, triangles, rectangles, squares, and even star shapes are called polygons. A circle, semicircle or oval is not a polygon. The have curved boundaries.
i know they dont have a tempo

Many 3-d figures can have polygons for bases. If all ist faces are polygons then it is a polyhedron but it is possible to have 3-d figures with a polygonal base and non-polygonal faces.
To be a polygon there has to be three or more sides. None of the sides can be curved or intersecting and the figure has to be closed.
No, polygons are made of straight, non-overlapping sides. An ellipse has curves.
um... it is pointy and looks like a house

All regular polygons with an even number of sides. Irregular polygons with an odd number of sides can have parallel sides. There are also non polygonal shapes that can have parallel sides.
Not all polygons are regular by definition. An irregular polygon may have non-congruent sides or non congruent angles or both. A regular polygon will always have both congruent sides and angles.
