You can measure absolutely anything you want to in centimeters. It's just that
some things, like wavelengths of light, will give you inconveniently small numbers,
and other things, like office buildings and planets, will give you inconveniently large
numbers.

Centimeters are just about right for describing the dimensions of tropical fish,
your fingers, sheets of paper in scratch pads, brand new pencils and pens,
newborn babies, blades of grass that really needs mowing, same for your hair,
cell-phones, tools you use to eat with, and the things that are on your plate
before you start.
