A multiple of 2 would be 2 x N (2 times/ multiplied by N) with N being any integer.
The same goes for 6.

So 2, 4, 6, 8
= 2x1, 2x2, 2x3, 2x4 and are multiples of 2.

6, 12, 18, 24
= 6x1, 6x2, 6x3, 6x4 and are multiples of 6
