To find equivalent fractions multiply (or divide) the numerator (top number) and denominator (bottom number) by the same number.
With a mixed number, only the fractional part need be changed, though it could be converted to an improper fraction first and equivalents of that found:
Examples of equivalent fractions to 2 3/5:
2 3/5 = 2 (3×2)/(5×2) = 2 6/10
2 3/5 = 2 (3×9)/(5×9) = 2 27/45
2 3/5 = (2×5+3)/5 = 13/5 (converted to an improper fraction)
2 3/5 = (13×2)/(5×2) = 26/10
2 3/5 = (13×9)/(5×9) = 117/45
