Did the incas have a mathematical concept of zero?

Yes

When did math start with the Incas?

I have include three links. One is a book about Inca mathematical ideas. The Incas did not have a written language which makes it difficult to know its history. Further, mathematical ideas develop slowly and are pass down from generations without formal records, making a "start date" nearly impossible. Certainly, the system of counting existed prior to 1532, which marks the end of the Inca empire. One link says the empire existed for approximately 100 years, but certainly mathematics in the Inca society could have been much older.

How did the Incas measure time?

The Incas used the sun and moons position in the sky to tell time

What did the Incas used for counting?

The invention is Quipu..

What did the Inca study to develop the calendar What mathematical abilities did they posses?

The Inca developed their calendar primarily by studying celestial bodies, particularly the sun, moon, and stars, as well as the seasonal changes in their environment. They observed the solstices and equinoxes to create an agricultural calendar that aligned with planting and harvesting cycles. The Incas possessed advanced mathematical abilities, including a base-10 counting system, the use of quipu (a system of knotted strings for record-keeping), and skills in geometry for land measurement and construction. Their mathematical knowledge enabled them to effectively manage resources and plan large-scale agricultural projects.
