A right triangle is triangle with an angle of 90 degrees. The sides a, b, and c of such a triangle satisfy the Pythagorean Theorem: a2 + b2 = c2

The largest side is normally referred to as "c" and is called the hypotenuse. The other two sides of sides, "a" and "b", and are called legs.

For example, a common Pythagorean triplet, is of a right triangle with legs of length 3 and 4. The hypotenuse is of length 5.

32 + 42 = 52

9 + 16 = 25

25 = 25
