Protocol-A

Requires any common timekeeping device.

Must run at the proper rate, but need not be

calibrated or synchronized to anything.

-- At the beginning of the run, note the time, and write it down.

-- At the end of the run, note the time, and write it down.

-- Take the data to a cool, dry, well-lighted, quiet place,where

it may be processed accurately, in peace, without distractions.

-- Subtract the first-noted time from the last-noted time.

The difference is the elapsed time during the run.

===========================

Protocol-B, if the required equipment is available.

Requires a resettable stopwatch.

-- Reset the stopwatch to zero.

-- Just as the run begins, start the stopwatch.

-- Just as the run ends, stop the stopwatch.

-- Read the time elapsed during the run, directly from the stopwatch display.
