Just think location for where.
First of all we need to know what the 16 x 4 area is. is it yards, metres, inches or what. What size are the pieces of turf?
anyone know this answer?
This is talking about a search grid. When you search for evidence you have to look at an area in detail and to keep track of where you have been and where you need to still examine; you need the grid to know where those parameters are. Also it keeps you from repeatedly searching one area while skipping another and missing something vital.

Absolute location refers to the exact coordinates (latitude and longitude) of a place on the Earth's surface. Relative location, on the other hand, describes a place in relation to other landmarks or geographic features. Absolute location is fixed and precise, while relative location is more subjective and context-dependent.

We have no way to know the answer to that question. No human has ever stepped onto another planet, and no space probe has sent back evidence that suggests that life exists on another planet. That's not saying that it doesn't, just that we've never seen evidence of it yet.
Relative location describes the position of a place or object in relation to another place or object. It is typically described using directional terms such as "north of" or "next to" rather than specific coordinates of latitude and longitude.
