i posted this question because my physics teacher asked it, he says there is an actual depth so it is not hypothetical. i hope someone can answer this with a real answer
A flat surface is no more that a plain horizontal surface with no depth. For example the surface of a table top is a flat surface, that is the surface only, not the depth of the top or the rest of the table
Volume= surface area (length x width) x depth re arrange to surface area= depth= Volume/Area Area= Volume/Depth
A flat surface with an infinite length and width but no depth is called a plane.
A plane horizontal surface with no depth refers to a flat area on a curved surface.
A line has no width nor depth, so it has no surface, thus its surface area is 0 cm2
The illusion of depth on a flat surface.
A surface has area but no depth. Therefore the Earth's Surface has a depth of 0.0 kilometers.
anything past 10 metres after that depth your body absorbs nitrogen and that is what gives you the bends if you surface too quickly the nitrogen forms bubbles in you blood and can cause all sorts of problems and even death.

temperature increases with depth
Volume= surface area (length x width) x depth re arrange to surface area= depth= Volume/Area Area= Volume/Depth
Pressure and temperature increase with depth beneath the surface of the Earth.
Depth is a measure of distance between the surface and the ocean floor.
To draw bubbles in water, use a pencil or pen to sketch the outline of the bubbles on paper. Then, use shading techniques to create a sense of depth and transparency. You can also add highlights to make the bubbles appear more realistic. Practice drawing bubbles in different sizes and shapes to improve your technique.

It's the depth of the cut from the crest of the surface down to the base on a bolt or screw.
The equation to calculate water depth is: [ Water Depth = Volume of Water / Surface Area of Water ]
