One.

By definition numbers are:

  • prime if they have only 2 distinct factors (namely 1 and the number itself);
  • composite if they have 3 or more distinct factors

The important thing to note is the word distinct. The number 1 has only 1 distinct factor, namely 1; thus it is neither a prime (the first Prime number is 2) nor composite.

Is 2 or 8 prime numbers?

A prime number is a number thats only factors are 1 and itself. So find the factors of 2. They are 1, and 2. So 2 is prime. A composite number is a number that has more than a pair of factors. So find the factors of 8. They are 1, and 8. They are 2, and 4. 8 has more than 1 pair of factors. So it is composite

How do you use factor tree method?

You can use Factor tRee method by example. 24 / / 3 x 8 / / / 3 x 2 x 4 / / / / 3 x 2 x 2 x 2 24 3x8=24 3x2x4=24 Explanation: 24 can be divided by 3 and 8 Since 8 is a composite number we need to continue until the last numbers are all prime Numbers there is a prime number in 3x8 then just bring it down with the factors of 8. Remember 1: If there is a composite number divide it until it becomes into a prime number. Remember 2: If there is a prime number then you have a composite number and in remember no. 1 I said that divide so that it could become a composite number what you will do with your prime number is that just bring it down along with the divided or factors of 8. Thats All Thank You hope I helped you! ^_^ -A

What is the number 1 classified as?

It is not prime because a prime number is one that only divides by itself and one, but one is one so it only divides by itself therefore is not a prime number. It is however a square number, and as far as I know, thats as exiting as one gets.

What is the (GCF) to the number of 176 and 1242?

GCF = 2 If your familiar to continuous divison, listing, or prime factorization then this is perfect If you prefer using continuous division, you must think of a number thats divisible by both numbers, in this case, 176 and 1242 As you can see 176 and 1242 are even so you can use 2 or if theres any other number, you can use that. Then use that number as a divisor and you will repeat the process until theres a composite number Please tell me if i got anything incorrect
