It is a year. It means 1909 A.D. It is a Masonic Symbolization of the date. Masonic as in Freemansons, that likely set the cornerstone. I am not sure what the letters stand for, I just know it is used in our lodge. WRONG WRONG WRONG, DUMBA**

I'm certainly no expert on this, not being a Mason or knowing much about them, but I did visit the following site to get a better idea of the meaning on a similar plaque on the Commandant's Quarters at Fort Snelling State Park in Minnesota: http://freemasonry.bcy.ca/aqc/anno_lucis/anno_lucis.html.

What does 1 Peter 2 verse 8 mean in the Bible?

Let's go back to verse 7, " Therefore, to you who believe, He (Jesus) is precious; but to those who are disobedient, "The stone (Jesus) which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone". 8, and "A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense". Jesus has become the chief corner stone of Christianity, which is the true way to God in heaven.
