A Class 4 hitch is a heavy-duty towing accessory typically designed for trucks and SUVs. It features a 2-inch square receiver and can handle a maximum weight capacity of around 10,000 pounds for towing and 1,000 pounds for tongue weight. The hitch is often constructed from robust steel and may include additional reinforcements for durability. Its design usually has a more substantial frame and may feature a drop or rise to accommodate various towing needs.
The class 2 hitch will tow 3400 lb.I found that a V8 with a class 3 or 4 and transmission cooler will tow 7000 lb
No. A class II hitch is rated to 3,500 lbs. A class III may be rated the same, but is often rated at 5,000 lbs or higher. A class III hitch has a 2" receiver opening which allows you to carry a larger bike rack, cargo rack... The class II has a 1-1/4" opening which limits it's usefulness for carrying accessories.
Depends on what type of hitch it has, with a general class III (3) hitch the capasity is 7,000 LBS towing. A Class IV (4) (only if your truck has a more powerfull motor such as the 6.5L diesel and 7.4L 454) hitch you can tow up to 8,000 Lbs. It wouldn't be safe to tow anything more than 4 tons
A category II hitch is a type of trailer hitch commonly used for towing trailers or other heavy loads. It is designed to handle heavier loads compared to a category I hitch, making it suitable for larger trailers and equipment. Category II hitches have a 1 1/4-inch receiver tube opening.
If you're asking what the dimensions are, I have no idea. But 2" is correct for a Class 3 & 4. In a Class 5 the receiver increases in size to 2.5", even though a Class 4 will pull the same weight (10,000 lb. with 1,200 lb. tongue limits on both)... I've got a 2001 Wrangler Sport and the only hitch that makes sense to me for what our vehicles are capable of is the Reese Class III hitch, it'll pull a 5,000 lb. trailer with 500 lb. of tongue weight.Hope I answered your question in time and was able to help,BenJamin
would like to see a picture of a class 4 hairline and the cost
It all determines what type of truck that you have. Some trucks require a 1/2 hitch while others need a 3/4 hitch. Please ask the person you're going to buy the hitch from or a mechanic for which one is appropriate for you car.

Use a class III b3 hitch. It only uses 2 bolts to attach to the frame and then 4 bolts to attach the center "A" portion to the "B" portion. The edges of the gas tank may need to be curled up/down 1/4" to give the bracket enough room to line up the holes with the Cherokee frame.
