An IRRATIONAL number is a number that can't be turned into a fraction. For Example:

3.454545..... is rational. It may go on and on, but it has a pattern. The next numbers are obviously 454545....and on and on.

6.5938157.......is IRRATIONAL because it is a decimal that continues on and on without stopping and has no pattern.

Whole numbers, like 1,2,3,4,5,etc., are rational. They can be turned into fractions.

REMEMBER: ALL FRACTIONS ARE RATIONAL!!!

Hope this helps!!
