It simply means negative six.
This means you have a negative balance.
Remove the parentheses and change the sign of everything that was within them. Eg: 25 - ( 6 + 4 - 8 + 2) ( which is 25 - (4)) becomes 25 - 6 - 4 + 8 - 2 = 21

Think about it from the perspective of multiplication.-5 - (-6). Do you see that negative next to the -6 in parentheses? It's the same as seeing -1 (-6) which equals 6.Therefore we see that the negative sign can be multiplied in making:-5 - (-6) = -5 + 6 = 1.
If I read the word "and" as "a", then a negative number in parentheses is a negative number.

Accountants use those pointy parentheses that look like this: <> to indicate negative numbers. If your account reads <14.25> it means you owe $14.25
I think a negative plus a negative with parentheses is still a negative. Just type it in search just like you typed it. That's what I did and I found some stuff. Oh yeah and use google calculator... it works like on that stuff really well :)
