When you make the number smaller, like 6/12= 1/2

A fraction in its simplest form can't be divided anymore evenly by whole numbers.

Example: 6/12 divided by 2 is 3/6. And 3/6 can be divided by 3=1/2. Now that the fraction can't be divided any further without it ending up in a bunch of decimals, it is now in its simplest, or simplified form.
