There is actually no such thing as a 1973 'silver' penny. However, there are some Lincoln pennies from 1973-74 that have a shiny, silver-like look. These pennies are worth about $1.25.
A US one cent coin dated 1906 is a Indian Head (1859-1909) cent.
A circulated penny may appear worn or dull due to being handled frequently. It may have scratches, discoloration, or slight fading of the design. The edges of the penny might also be slightly rounded or dented.
Copper is a brown solid. Take a look at an American or Canadian penny. In nature, copper is usually found as an oxide that is bluish green. The Statue of Liberty is copper and has oxidized to this bluish green color.
It looks exactly the same as the 2010 or 2012 penny.

The front of a 1917 penny looks very similar to a present day penny. The reverse had shafts of wheat with ONE CENT and THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
A 1927 British Penny looks very similar to all British Pennies minted from 1911 to 1936, other than the date. See the link below and look for the 1936 Penny towards the bottom.
