Cents minted up to mid-1982 are made of bronze and weigh 3.11 gm each. Cents minted from mid-1982 onward are made of copper-plated zinc and weigh 2.5 gm each. So, you'd have to sort them by date and leave out the 1982 cents because they can weigh either amount.

Remember there are 453.6 gm to a pound when you convert weights.
