The limitations of font in this program do not let the bars show. The C, X, and L at the beginning all have a bar above them, a horizontal bar over the top (like an underscore, but above). The bar above the first three numerals means they are multiplied by 1000. C = 100, C with an overbar = 100,000

X = 10, X with an overbar = 10,000 L = 50, L with an overbar = 50,000 overbar-X in front of overbar-L subtracts instead of adding, so overbar-XL = 40,000 X = 10, XX = 20 V = 5

100,000 + 40,000 + 20 + 5 = 140,025
