I did that by getting everything into base 10 first. The ones place (zero in this case) is worth one in any base. The tens place is worth whatever base you're in (so, for each 1 in the tens place in base 8, you have 8 more. Just like for each 1 in the tens place in base ten you have 10 more. 10, 20, 30...). That means 30 in base 8 is 3 8's.

That gives us: (3*8)+(0*1)=24. That's base 10. So, 24/4=6.

Sorry, bases are hard to explain without visual aids but the answer is 6.
