The 4 "points" stood for the number of finger printed and because of this the process was flawed. Basic difference between American and Japanese 4 point system is points per difects. Japanese 4 point system was introduced earlier and this system contains some soft atitude for the seller. American 4 point system was introduced after the Japanese system and it is more strict than any other inspection system.
