A precise measurement is an exact measurement. How long, how tall how wide. EXAMPLE-12X5X24
Precision refers how close measurements of the same thing are to each other. A precise measurement is one that is similar or the same as previous measurements. A precise measurement does not need to be accurate.
precise measurements may not be accurate but will agree with each other. Characteristic of precision is low standard deviation. It is not in all cases proof of accuracy though

There are two components to measurement.

Accuracy and Precision

Accuracy of an instrument is the ability to get the right value of the measurement.

Precision of the instrument tells us how low the variance of the reading can be.

An accurate tape to measure distance would give you 5 feet for a 5 feet length. However, if that tape isn't precise, it could vary between 4.5 ft and 5.5 ft.

In this case, we need a tape with higher precision. so that the reading is between 4.99ft and 5.01 ft.

An instrument with low accuracy and high precision however would continue to give 4ft (with no variance) for a 5ft length.

Hence, accuracy and precision are both needed for a measurement device.

What should be used to make a precise measurment of liquid volume?

A graduated cylinder or a volumetric flask should be used to make a precise measurement of liquid volume. These tools have calibrated markings on the side that allow for accurate measurements to be made. It is important to ensure that the liquid level is read at eye level to minimize any parallax error.
