I got this answer by divided the numerator (11) by the denominator (8) which can go in once. Then you have the extra amount of 3, which then you take your old denominator (8) and make the 3 you got, your new denominator. So, thus, 1 and 3/8.
If you mean: 11/8 then it is 1 and 3/8 as a mixed number or 1.375 as a decimal
