I will give 2 ways to work this.

Method 1:

Convert both fractions to have the same denominators. So 4/2 is the same as 12/6, and 6/3 is also the same as 12/6.

12/6 + 12/6 = 24/6

24 divided by 6 = 4

Method 2:

Here you can see that both are improper fractions. Those in the know will know that a fraction sign is the same as saying "divided by."

4 divided by 2 is 2.

6 divided by 3 is 2.

2 + 2 = 4.
