It is how Tony Stark developed a disease that was going to kill him, so he lives life to the fullest. If you have seen Ironman 1, than you can guess what it is like. He has to fight Rhodes, because he didn't like what Tony was doing. He then discovers a new element that heals him, but not after Rhodes steals an Ironman suit. Tony's business rival (who wants Tony dead) then tricks it out completely. All while this is going on, there is a new villain that comes up and fights Tony periodically throughout the movie. In the end, Tony and Rhodes (who became friends again) have to fight an army of robots that were made by the business rival and the new villain. After they finished them all off, The new villain comes out in an Ironman suit that he built. Rhodes and Tony kill him, and everything is good and happy.

It is because it is the new Arc Reactor for the Ironman suit. The old one had palladium, which poisoned his blood. He then discovered a new element, which worked perfectly for the new reactor.

It depends on what the Triathlon is...Sprint Distance is usually a swim of about a half mile (0.47). Olympic or International Distance is a swim of about one mile (0.93). Then there is the half-Ironman (70.3) or Long Distance Triathlon as they are sometimes referred to which has a swim of 1.2 miles. Then the ultimate Triathlon that many work toward which is the full Ironman distance and that has a swim of 2.4 miles.
