Since precision refers to being as exact as possible, non-precision (or imprecision) is the idea of approximating the right answer or measurement to some degree.

The greater the approximation, the larger the chance that the incorrectness of the answer matters. No one, for example, would want to risk living in a building or flying in an airplane that was built almost to code.
