Double one cow, and you have two cows.

Double one apple, and you have two apples.

Double one chair, and you have two chairs.

Double one book, and you have two books.

Double one beer, and you have two beers.

Similarly, double one third, and you have two thirds.

The only difference is that the last one is math, so it's mysterious and terrifying.
