There are two ways to express exponents in Excel.

looks like the exponents did not show up, in the first it should be 4 cosine cubed x - 3cosx and the sin 3x should be 3sinx - 4sine cubed x
When dividing powers with the same base, you subtract the exponents. The formula is (a^m \div a^n = a^{m-n}), where (a) is the base and (m) and (n) are the exponents. This simplification follows from the properties of exponents.

There is a function called ROUND which you can use to round to zero decimal places. If your number was in cell A2, the formula would be:=ROUND(A2,0)
Under the formulas tab, there is an option called "Show Formulas" in Formula Auditing. This applies for Excel 2010 (what I am using) and should apply for Excel 2003 and 2007 as well. For older options (or if there is no such option in Excel 2003/2007, search for something similar).
In Excel an equation can be a formula. All formulas in Excel must start with the equals sign. That is what tells Excel it is a formula.
MAX. If you had a series of numbers in the range B1:B84 the following formula would show the largest of them: =MAX(B1:B84).
There is no formula error button in Excel. However, there is an Error Checking button on the Formulas ribbon in the Formula Auditing section in Excel 2007.
The PVIFA formula in excel refers to Present Value Interest Factor of Annuity. This is able to be calculated in an excel document.
Replicating means copying. So replicating a formula in Excel is copying a formula. This is a very common activity that is done in Excel. You create one formula and then use it in other places on the worksheet.
There is no formula that does that. It is an option called freezing the pane. In Excel 2007 you can get to the option from the View tab on the menu ribbon in the Window section. Click on Freeze Panes and select the option you want.

To make the formula bar visible in Excel, go to the "View" tab on the ribbon and check the "Formula Bar" option in the "Show" group. Alternatively, you can right-click on the ribbon area and select "Customize the Ribbon," then ensure the Formula Bar is enabled in the settings. If you're using Excel for Mac, you can enable it by going to "Preferences" and then selecting "View," where you'll find the option to show the Formula Bar.

An underlying formula in Excel is used in a spreadsheet to do something different than the formula does. An underlying formula can be used to remove values or display numbers.
