To turn a decimal [fraction] into a percent you simply multiply it by 100 and add a percentage sign. If the decimal fraction has two or more digits after the decimal point, then all you need to do is to move the decimal point two digits to the right and add the percent symbol. If the number has only one digit after the decimal point then you need to add a zero and then move the decimal point.Thus:0.3456 = 34.56%0.0345 = 03.45% = 3.45%0.34 = 34%0.3 = 0.30 = 30%
a number with a decimal point is a a fraction, a part of the whole goes behind the decimal. where as one with out a decimal point is just a whole number.
The product of a decimal number ( n ) and 10 is always a whole number when ( n ) has only one decimal place. This is because multiplying a decimal with one decimal place (e.g., 2.5) by 10 shifts the decimal point one place to the right, resulting in a whole number (e.g., 25). If ( n ) has more than one decimal place, the product will not be a whole number.
If the decimal number can be expressed as a fraction (with one whole number over another), then it is a rational decimal number. So 7/5 is a rational number, and remains as such even if expressed in decimal form (of 1.4).

1.0! it's a whole number! it's the same as one!

Move the decimal place over two places to the right, and replace the decimal into a percent. (.42 = 42%) either that or you see how many times the numerator goes in to one hundred & then that's it...

one over eight to a decimal = 0.125
