∙ 10y agoFor accurate calculations, more information is needed. For a rough estimate, you can assume the field is approximately square, and take the square root of the area to get the length. Or you may want to assume a different side ratio - for example, 1.5:1 - and do the corresponding calculations. It won't make much difference if all you want is a rough estimate.

The perimeter is 328 m. (Width: 64m length: 100m)
an Obisometer
It is 57 metres.
Metres.
If the field of view for high power is 300 microns, and a cell fills half of that field, then the approximate length of the cell would be around 150 microns. This is calculated by dividing the total field of view by 2.
You can't tell. There are an infinite number of sets of different dimensions that the field could have, all with the same area. The area doesn't tell you the length or width.

The field is square, so you know that its length is the same as its width and so, its area is its length times its length. So find the square root of 2500 square metres and that is the length of each side of the square field.
Area = Length * Width So Width = Area / Length = 165/15 = 11 metres.
