This year we'll see on Thursday September 25 : SAO PAULO (Dow Jones)--Brazil´s financial exchange BM&FBovespa SA (BVMF3.BR), announced Friday will conduct its second carbon credit auction for the sale of Certified Emission Reductions, or CERs, held by the Sao Paulo municipal government. The auction will take place Thursday, and the municipal government will offer 713,000 CERs. The minimum bid price will be disclosed Wednesday. "The collateral of EUR400,000 must be pledged by all bidders by no later than five business days before the auction date," the exchange said. It will be the second carbon credit auction held by the exchange. The first such auction took place last year. In last year´s auction, an equivalent of 808,450 tons of carbon dioxide from the Bandeirantes landfill Energy Project, held by the Sao Paulo Municipal Government, was sold. Fortis Bank bought the lot at EUR16.20 per metric ton of carbon, with the local government receiving EUR13.09 million.
