Mean is when you have a set of numbers and you add them all together and divide your answer by how many numbers you have.example: 4 5 9 7 6 8 6 4 3 here is my set of numbers i add it up 4+5+9+7+6+8+6+4+3=52 then i divide the answer (52) by how many numbers there are (9) so 52 divided by 9=5r7. Median is the middle number in a set of data when they are arranged in numerical order. example: 4 5 9 7 6 8 6 4 3 here is my set of numbers, now i have to arrange them in order from least to greatest 3 4 4 5 6 6 7 8 9 now i find the middle number which in this case is 6. so now i know my median is 6. Average is the difference between the largest number in a set of data and the smallest number in a set of data. example: 4 5 9 7 6 8 6 4 3 here is my set of numbers. now the largest number in here is 9 and the smallest number in here is 3. what i have to do is subtract these two numbers so 9-3=6. my average is 6.
