-2. If you start with -1, and take away 1 from that, you get -2. Basically, your taking away a whole number one time. Think of it this way...it's like you have -$1 in your bank account and then you spend $1 (take away 1) on your debit card, then you get a letter from your bank saying that you account is -$2 (the difference).
