A hypothesis is a statement of fact or belief upon which further conclusions can be drawn. An inference is the meaning that I attribute to someone else's statement or action.
An inference is something which you deduce that the speaker or write means although he hasn't said anything about it directly. If you came in and said, "My, it's hot in here", I might infer that the heating needs turning down.

We can infer that the Earth is rotating on its axis due to the fact that the Sun appears to travel across the sky and it gets light and dark each day. 3. If I said, "Your sweets look nice!", you might infer that I wanted one. 4. If I was really fit and muscular you could infer that I went to the gym a lot. 5. If I was dressed as a policeman you could infer that I was a policeman. Note: An inference does not necessarily have to be correct!
Reasoning is different from inference because reasoning is a matter of using very little fact to make an accurate deduction towards a certain end. Inferences only come as a result of a test done to guide a certain view point.

An observation is looking and comprehending what you see, smell, feel, taste, or hear. An inference is making an educated guess on what you observed.
