If you wanted to be exact, a shape is like a square, circle, rectangle, triangle, ect. (Common figures with names.) A form or a figure would be something like a polygon or a blob maybe. But all are classified as figures in math talk, which is proper to not use the word "shape" at any time when in a math class or anything like that. A figure could also be classified as a shadow or the outline of something Ex: it looks like the figure of a man!
