The wet foot dry foot policy was when the Cubans try to make it to the US. The problem was, that police men would spot them and send them back to Cuba. For them to come to the US, they had to sneak around the police men and don't get spotted. They had to have their whole body on land to stay in the US for as long as they want.

How many cu ft are in 20 lb of mulch?

If two people are standing together one is wet one is dry which one will feel the cold the most and why?

The dry person will feel the cold more because the wet person standing next to them will try and get warm until the water evaporates onto the next person but by the time it has reached the dry person it would have been cold. so the dry person would feel the cold more! I think, the wet person will feel the cold more because water needs energy to evaporate and this energy is taken form the immediate surroundings ie the wet person, making the wet person feel cold. If you wet your finger and hold it up in the air it will feel cold because the heat to evaporate the water is coming from your finger.

How much does a piece of wood weigh?

A 'piece of wood' is very vague. It all depends on the size of the piece and what type of wood it is. Strictly, the weight is the volume of the piece multiplied by the density of the particular wood. Wood floats in water therefore it weighs less than water. Water weighs about 80 pounds per cubic foot. If the wood is wet (freshly cut) it might be 20 to 25 percent water or about 20 pounds per cubic foot. If it is old and dry it might be 5 percent water or about 4 pounds per cubic foot. To this you need to add the weight of the dry wood itself. The weight of completely dry wood is related to the compactness of the cells which depends on the species of wood. "Softwoods"such as balsa or pine are relatively light (large cells with lots of empty space in between which is why they are "soft") while "hardwoods" like oak, walnut or ebony are relatively heavy (small cells packed closely togehter which makes them "hard"). Completely dry pine might weigh 10 pounds per cubic foot (this is a guess, not a fact) while completely dry walnut might weigh 30 to 40 pounds per cubic foot (another guess). Wood still floats even when completely wet so the total weight will always be less than the weight of the same volume of water.

The density of wet sand is 120 lbs per cubic foot the density of dry sand is 100 lbs per cubic foot if a truck delivers 135 cubic feet of wet sand back to the coast whats the wt of the water inside?

To find the weight of the water inside the wet sand, we first need to calculate the weight of the wet sand delivered: 135 cubic feet * 120 lbs/cubic foot = 16,200 lbs of wet sand. Next, we find the weight of the dry sand in the wet sand delivered: 135 cubic feet * 100 lbs/cubic foot = 13,500 lbs of dry sand. The weight of the water inside the wet sand is the the difference between the weight of the wet sand and the weight of the dry sand: 16,200 lbs (wet sand) - 13,500 lbs (dry sand) = 2,700 lbs of water.
