x^2 - 6x + 48

The factors of 48 are 1,48 : 2,24 : 4.12 : 8,6 ; 3,16

None of these numbers has a difference of '6' .

So resort to the Quadratic Equation.

x = - b +/- sqrt[b^2 - 4ac]}/ 2a

Substituting

x = { - -6 +/- sqrt[(-6)^2 - 4(1)(48)]} / 2(1)

x = { 6 +/- sqrt[36 - 192]} / 2

x = { 6 +/- sqrt[-156]} 2

This does not have any REAL roots/factors, because you cannot take the square root of a negative number.
