The grade for this depends entirely on the difficulty of the exam and what the standards are. If you are given 16 unsolved problems to work on and you solve three of them you deserve the highest possible grade. If you are taking some sort of minimal competency exam you only know three out the required answers then you deserve a very low grade and have a lot more work to do if you want to pass.
