Using math in every day life requires different levels of skill. You will need to go food shopping. Requirements here is addition and subtraction and properly counting your money to pay and counting to check the correct change. Later in life, you will need to compare prices on products to see which is the best deal. You also need to know how many questions are on your test and the teacher may tell you which questions need fixing.
When you get up for school in the morning, reading of the clock is vital and on various tests, you must have the knowledge of timed tests. Also, know when lunch is, when to go home, when dinner is and when to go to sleep. You may take a bus and know when the bus comes and/or leave school.
Math is used in basic statistics such as how much do you weigh, how much weight is needed to gain or lose. You may also need to count calories. Do you also want to know how tall you are compared with others? You need to to read a ruler or measuring tape. Here again is addition, subtraction, and reading a ruler. You may or not be doing multiplication. Multiplication is the easier way of adding if you have multiple of numbers to add.
When you order Pizza, don't you count how many slices there should be in the pizza whether it's 8 or 10. You may also have to divide the pizza among friends or family. This math is counting or using fractions.
This is how math affects you now. Later, you'll need it when purchasing large products, having a job, requesting loans of all sorts, driving a car, etc.

Math is VERY important. I know like everyone hates it, but math is everywhere!!! Almost everything you do involves math. Sure, most things you do in math you probably won't use in real life... but problem solving, addition, subtraction, division! All of those plus more are so important in a normal lifestyle.
You sound like you're going to fail math this year and trying to justify it.
