The mean is a fancy mathematical word meaning to find the average. Averages can be found by adding all the numbers together and dividing them by how many numbers you added.

4 + 7 + 6 + 8 + 10 = 35.

We added together 5 numbers and therefore to find mean must divide the sum by the total amount of numbers.

35 ÷ 5 = 7.

Mean[4,7,6,8,10] = 7.

Which ratio is greater a 10 to 7 or 6 to 4?

The 6 to 4 ratio. 10 : 7 = 40 : 28 6 : 4 = 42 : 28 so 6:4 (or equivalently 3:2) is a larger ratio than 10:7.

What is 7 over 6 divided by 4?

It is not possible to answer the question unambiguously because division is not associative. (6/7)/4 is no t the same as 6/(7/4) and the question could mean either.

What is the median of 4 4 5 5 6 6 7 7 8 8 8 9 10 11?

The median of a set of numbers is the middle one (if there are an odd number of them) or the mean average of the middle two (if there are an even number of them). The dataset {4, 4, 5, 5, 6, 6, 7, 7, 8, 8, 8, 9, 10, 11} has 14 elements, so the median is the mean average of the 7th and 8th numbers. The 7th and 8th numbers are 7 and 7, thus the median is (7 + 7) / 2 = 7.
