Most ice cream scoops are about 1/2 of a cup. Some places (like Baskin Robbins) try to get as much ice cream as possible into one scoop and they can get closer to one cup.At the shop where I work, we use a 20Zeroll scooper..and it can scoop a 3 ounce or 4 ounce scoop...depending on the flavor and density of the ice cream when scooped.And that also depends on what kind of scooper because at first you could be doing this at home and you could have a big or small or even a middle size of scoop's so it does depend and plus the scooper can have variables
