NO! sides and edges are the same thing
Faces = sides = 5. Edges = 8
A shape with four sides has more vertices because there are more points where edges (straight lines) meet than a 3-sided shape.
If a cube has 6 sides, and the shape is four, then that's add 2. For that 6, a cube has 12 edges, which is 6+6, or 6*2. On a tetrahedron, the base shape is a triangle, and the 3D shape has 4, that means in order find how many sides a 100gonal shape has, the equation would be x= y+ how ever many above the triangle it is. The triangle to tetrahedron is x= y+1. 3 to 100 is 97, so the equation is x= y+97. Your y, in this case, is 100. So, your shape has 197 sides. A cube has 6 sides, 12 edges, and 8 vertices. A tetrahedron has 4 sides, and 6 edges, so that means it should have 5 vertices. The tetrahedron is an exception, it should have 5 vertices, but it only has 4. So to find the number of vertices a shape has, v, you need ton find the average between the number of faces and sides. If v is a decimal, then find the number right above it, for example: say you get 55.5 for your average, make it 56. The shape should have as many edges as the number of faces of the shape "above it". In your case, that's the 101gonal shape, which to find the amount of sides for that, use an earlier equation, x= y+98. Your shape has 197 sides, 199 edges, and 198 vertices.
the edges of a shape are basicly the sides of a shape
A pentagonal pyramid (5 sides and 1 base) has 6 faces, 6 vertices, and 10 edges (5 between the sides and 5 with the base).
edges=sides so: 32 sides -> 32 edges

A shape with 8 sides is an octagon
NO! sides and edges are the same thing
The answer depends on the shape.
Hexagonal.
You count them. Let's look at a square, it has 4 edges. Just count the sides of the shape. Vertice = corners (point) Faces = the flat surface areas Edges = sides of the shape that makes up the shape like the outline of a shape.
There are no edges, a sphere is a closed shape but it has no linearly coupled sides.
A nonagonal shape has 9 sides
count the sides or edges.
