the first xr75 was built in 1973. i believe your is a 1975.
If your Honda XR75 has the tendency to lunge and run rough at lower RPMs, it can indicate the idle needs adjusted. It can also be caused by a bad fuel filter.

I am Service Manager at a Honda Motorcycle Delaership. You have a 1978 XR75. Frame VIN number will be XR75-1500003- and up. The Engine number will be XR75E-1500001- and up. It Originally came painted Tahitian Red.The "XR" Decal is Blue, "75" is White. Front number plate and handlebar grips are red. Front fork legs are Silver w/Black hubs. This was the last year of the XR75. It was produced from 1973-1978. This was Honda's First 4-stroke actual Dirtbike. The Very first in the "XR" series, it had tons of power and reved to 10,500 RPM. Hope this info helps. Jeff Vladika JVladika@verizon.net
I grew up during the rein of the XR-75, when it was the king of it's class (73 to 75). I bought a new one for $462.65 off the floor at Vetesnik Honda in Wisconsin in 1975. Many of my friends had them too. Every stock XR-75 from that era (1973 to 1976) with the 4-speed, and in good condition, would top 60 mph on a paved road. Mine would do 63 mph. Only XR's that were beat up pretty badly wouldn't do it. They ruled!!!the xr75 would go 70 mphKID STOP SENDING MESSAGES
No. This is a 4 cycle motor that runs on straight petrol (gas).
There probably isn't a specific manual for that bike, but you can look at www.bicycletutor.com, www.parktool.com or www.sheldonbrown.com for tips and pointers.
That's pretty much dependent on your strength and your pedalling skills. You are the motor, your ability is what decides how fast the bike is. If the rider is immensely strong, the fastest gear is when you have the chain on a big chainwheel in front, and on a small sprocket at the rear. But for someone of normal strength, the fastest gear is one where you're strong enough to keep turning the cranks at about 100 turns/minute.
