To get an accurate appraisal, all these factors need to be known.
The face value of a coin is however much money a coin can be spent as. A nickel's face value is 5 cents because it can only be spent as 5 cents. For example:The face value of a One Shilling coin is One Shilling. The face value of a One Dollar coin is One Dollar. The face value of any coin or bank note is what is written on it.
For a coin it is just worth the value stamped on it i.e. the value on it's face So a common coin is worth face value, but a rare coin is worth more than face value.
Does a Ceaal coin have value?
The coin is face value.
A date alone isn't enough to value a coin. Please post a new and separate question with the coin's country of origin and denomination.
About $60 to $20,000 depending upon the condition of the coin.
This is not a U.S. Mint issued coin. It's a privately made 1 ounce silver bullion round that has no numismatic value. The value is only for the silver, about $20.00.
The coin was not struck in 1836, it's 2003 Arkansas State Quarter worth 25 cents
An authentic 1836 U.S. silver dollar would be one of the rare "Gobrecht Dollars" (1836-1839) very few were released into circulation. The coin has "Miss Liberty" in the seated position on the front and a flying eagle on the reverse. Look at the coin again and post new question.
Please check the coin again and post new question. The Walking liberty design was first used on half dollars in 1916.A genuine 1836 US silver dollar would have a picture of a seated Miss Liberty on the front and a flying eagle on the back. 1836 is a fairly rare date for Seated Liberty dollars so any such coin should be authenticated by an expert. If your coin really has an 1836 date and a Walking Liberty design it's a badly-made counterfeit.
With a date of 1836 it's a Capped Bust dime. Unfortunately, the hole kills the collectible value of the coin. But, depending on the size and location of the hole, someone may want it. Maybe $5.00.
25 cent
Assuming the coin is circulated. The 1836 Capped Bust dime is a more common date coin of this series. For an accurate assessment of value the coin needs to be seen and graded. In general, retail values for average circulated coins are $30.00-$75.00, better grade are $100.00-$225.00 and coins showing almost no wear run from $300.00-$575.00. Values are a market average and only for coins in collectible condition, coins that are bent, corroded, scratched, used as jewelery or have been cleaned have far less value if any to a collector or dealer.
Considering that the Charlotte Mint was not established until 1838, if you have a "C" mint coin dated 1836, you definitely have a counterfeit. Dan Moore The Working Man's Rare Coins http://www.workingmancoins.com
1836 kg is equal to 1836 kilograms. No conversion is needed as the value remains the same in terms of kilograms.
It's unlikely that you have a genuine U.S. coin. 1836 half cents were only struck as proofs and currently retail for amounts in excess of $3000. If it has the small word COPY worked into the design somewhere it's clearly a replica. Otherwise you should have your coin evaluated by a dealer or appraiser to determine whether it's genuine.
i have three DAVID CROCKETT THE ALAMO COIN SAN ANTONIO TEXAS 1766-1836 coins. just wondering how much there worth if anything.
