I'll assume you're looking for a linear equation that makes use of cooking or cooking items. The easiest one that comes to mind would be boiling water. Once the water reaches a rolling boil, the water level will drop at a specific rate. I don't know that rate but if it took one hour to evaporate 6 inches of water then it would look like:

water level = starting water - time/10

W = 6 - T/10

W = ( -T/10 ) + 6

m = -10

b = starting water = 6
