Milliliters are used to measure LIQUIDS.
It is a method called displacement. Displacement is a method that many scientists use. First you put a certain amount of water in a container (test tube, beaker). Second you Measure how many milliliters of water you put into it. Next you Add your irregular object into the water. Then you measure how many milliliters the water level rose. Then you subtract your second measurement with the irregular shaped object in it by your first measurement without the object in it and it will give you the volume of your irregular shape object.
The capacity of an object is a measure of the volume of stuff that can be put inside the object. I have not come across many hollow hammers - apart from toy balloon hammers! But, for ordinary hammers, a reasonable unit for volume would be cubic centimetres (or centilitres). The capacity of an object is a measure of the volume of stuff that can be put inside the object. The cranial capacity is a measure of the volume of a skull (cranium) while a centimetre cube is a measure of volume - of any object - the ignition chambers of a petrol engine, a bottle of soda, a box.
to measure volume the object must be three dimensional. the purpose of measuring the volume of an area is to know its capacity

Milliliters are used to measure LIQUIDS.
to measure an irregular object you fill a graduated cylinder part way with water, measure that in milliliters, put the object in, measure that in milliliters, then subtract the 1st measurement from the 2nd and convert the answer to cubic centimeters. 1 milliliter =1cubic centimeter
Volume, usually liquids.

Milliliters and cubic centimeters are units the measure volume. Volume refers to the space that an object or substance occupies.
Meters and milliliters measure different things - meters measure length, while milliliters measure volume. To convert meters to milliliters, you would need to know the volume of the object and the dimensions in meters so you can calculate the volume in cubic meters, which can then be converted to milliliters.
Temperature measures relative energy of an object. It does not measure heat. The amount of heat (energy) depends on the size of the object, the nature of the material / its heat capacity.

Mass refers to the amount of matter in an object, typically measured in grams or kilograms. Capacity, on the other hand, refers to the amount of space an object can hold or contain, measured in liters or milliliters. They are related in the sense that the larger the mass of an object, the greater its capacity might need to be to hold that mass.
