After I searched this topic for our Vintage Ace Liner 502 stapler, I found they take standard staples but not the usual standard staples. These are Ace standard staples. I haven't bought them yet, but in looking at all the vintage Ace 502 staplers for sale the recommendation is standard staples, so it must mean their companies standard staples.

Most office supply stores have staples for an Ace Liner model 502 stapler. Many lumber yards and home repair stores will also have them available.
The staples are flaring out instead of in toward the center. How do you adjust ace liner 502?
Push the bottom plate forward with your thumb so the inward flared staple holes line up with the upper edge of the stapler. That lopsided square place on the bottom of the stapler just slides forwared and backward about a quarter of an inch.
How do you repair a ace liner 502 stapler. The top is jammed and metal side tabs won't move to release top of stapler. Whole top is jammed up somehow and stapler won't work. How best to unjam this?
i tapped mine lightly with a hammer and the top portion popped out and was able to open it up.
